Clean Streets is a community-funded effort that pays a professional cleaner a living wage to pick up litter and keep sidewalks clean across San Francisco’s Mission District. Since 2020, the crew has logged over 660 miles of sidewalk cleaned and removed more than 33,000 pounds of trash. The whole thing runs on small monthly contributions from neighbors.
