Update: Divis Farmers Market Move

On July 30th, the Department of Land Use unanimously approved Supervisor Brown’s legislation to allow the Divisadero Farmers Market to be held at the DMV parking lot.  The legislation moves on to Mayor Breed’s desk and is expected to be signed by August 9th. Thank you to Supervisor Brown and her team for acting quickly to make this move happen. We’ll keep you posted on the move as more details become available.

Divisadero Farmer’s Market Move

With the intent of increasing safety for patrons, farmers, and staff as well as allow for smoother traffic flow, the Divisadero Farmers’ Market was planning to move the neighborhood Farmers’ Market from Grove street and Divis, to the DMV parking lot on Broderick street between Oak and Fell street in April 2019. Unfortunately, because of a zoning code restricting the use of the property for this purpose, the plan hit a roadblock and could not be approved by the city planner. Thankfully, Supervisor Brown introduced an ordinance to amend the planning code to allow for farmers’ markets to set up at public facilities in RM2 (reinforced masonry) zones. We’ll keep you posted as this story unfolds.
