Park Volunteer Day: Saturday June 1st, 2019

Join ASNA and SF Rec and Park for a morning of fun and community building.

This Saturday’s clean-up effort will focus on picking up the many cigarette butts littering our park, especially around the picnic area, behind the tennis court and around the park benches. So, you will have a choice on Saturday…do some gardening or kick some butts!
Gardening in the park: 9am-12pm.
Meet by the picnic tables next to the tennis court.
*Gloves, rakes, and all necessary supplies will be provided.*
Coffee, water, and light snacks will be available.
Come when you can, leave when you must!
Please RSVP with Cynthia Chapman: cynchap24@gmail.com
Thank you to our awesome volunteers who turned out at our last volunteer day to tend to our beautiful park. Also, a special thank you to Supervisor Vallie Brown for taking time out of her busy schedule to stop by and pitch in for our volunteer day.

Alamo Square Re-Forestation: On Track

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of ASNA board members in 2016, the Alamo Square reforestation plan is on track and the new trees planted are doing remarkably well. This fall SF Rec and Parks Department will be installing around 30 additional trees (quantity/size to be confirmed) with funds from SFRPD’s own forestation budget. ASNA Board member Lee Stickles has continued to work diligently with SFRPD to document what trees have been planted and plan the next phase scheduled for this fall.
Big thank you to Lee Stickles!
We will update you once the plan is a bit further along!
