Park Volunteer Day – Saturday June 2, 2018

Join us for our June Park Greening at Alamo Square!  Grab your gardening gloves and pitch in to help keep our park looking sharp.  Email park@alamosq.org to let us know you’re coming so we can plan the activities for the day.  9AM – 12PM, meet by the tennis court, coffee provided!

SFPD Online Reporting

At our last Alamo Square meeting, Sgt Tony Manfreda from SFPD’s Northern Station attended to give us an update on safety around Alamo Square and answer questions.

The hot topic was car break-ins and how SFPD tracks them.  

Sgt. Manfreda followed up with us via email to inform us that as of January 2018, online reporting is included in the SFPD’s crime statistics.

The following types of reports can be filed online at

  • Building Burglary (Supplement) You have already filed a report with an Officer for the burglary of a building (residential, commercial, garage etc.) and you are updating or have completed your list of stolen and damaged items. The officer took a burglary report at your home or business, and said to make a list of any additional items taken in the burglary.
  • Fraudulent Use of Credit / Debit Card A credit / debit card is used to make purchases without the authorization of the cardholder. An unknown person uses your credit / debit card to make purchases without your permission.
  • Harassing Phone Call Unwanted phone calls of an annoying, harassing or threatening nature. Immediate hang-ups, obscene language, etc. with no known suspects.
  • Lost Property When property is missing or lost. Property that is missing, leaving items in restaurant, bus, train, or missing from home.
  • Theft Property is taken without your permission other than from a vehicle. Property is missing or stolen and not lost. The theft of firearms, passports, Social Security cards, vehicles or license plates cannot be reported online.
  • Vandalism The act of changing, modifying or defacing public or private property, including graffiti. Knocking over mail box, throwing rocks through windows, marking / painting of personal property other than to a vehicle, etc.
  • Vehicle Burglary Property is stolen from a locked vehicle. Stolen equipment or belongings from a vehicle.
  • Vehicle Tampering Tampering with a motor vehicle including vandalism, graffiti of a vehicle and thefts from unlocked vehicles. Keying, broken windows, or attempts to remove parts. License Plate thefts cannot be reported online.
